Keyboard Projectors

It seems that every other day I find something that seems like it came straight out of a Science Fiction movies. This time I stumbled upon a laser projected keyboard, this keyboard allows users to project a usable keyboard onto almost any flat surface.(Shanklin, 2013) The projected keyboard uses infared lasers to project the keyboard and reflections to I think this device is good for us who get tired of using the tiny keyboards that are on some Smartphones. There is currently a keyboard projector that was created by Celluon Epic for about $100. I hope I can try this device out before I purchase it maybe I'll go to a Best Buy to see if I can test one out.

Smaller is Better!!!!

Every where you look nowadays someone is using some kind of a device, whether it's a Smart phone, tablet, or laptop, etc. One thing that all these devices have in common is that they contain microchips. These microchips are getting more advanced and more powerful, as researchers continue with efforts to make them even smaller. Scientist are now experimenting with self assembling materials in an effort to create smaller and less expensive microchips.(Markoff, 2014) The researches are hoping that some self forming materials can be used to form circuits for the microchips.(Markoff, 2014) With this being said some companies are already in the race to improve the quality of handheld devices. For instance Las Vegas company Nvidia plans on releasing a 32 and 64 bit chip this year. (Nvidia, 2014) This chips will give users great computing speed while on the go, these chips will be great for gamers. I think with the work of researchers and companies who are willing to compete for new customers, the need for desktops and laptops will soon fade away as the microchips get smaller and smaller.

Can You See Me Now?

For some people in our technologically advanced world its not enough to just use your high tech devices. Now more are more people are adding wearable technology to their wardrobes. One piece of wearable technology I want to mention is Google Glass. Google Glass is a pretty cool gadget that allow you to capture video, take photos, view maps, and run apps that are specially created.(Houghton, 2013) In my opinion Google Glass has a long way to go, the potential for this technology could be endless. To me the greatest advantage of this technology is that it allows the user to keep his or her hands free. I myself haven't had the pleasure of using Google Glass , so someone please let me know how their experience went in a comment.

Head in The Clouds

Cloud computing is everywhere nowadays, companies every where are starting to convert over to using clouds. The cloud makes things a lot simpler because companies or private users don't have to worry about managing hardware and software which is done by the host company.(Griffin,2013) Cloud works by users accessing or storing information from a cloud host instead of their own computer.(Griffin, 2013) As the cloud business projects billions in profits most large U.S. companies are planning on joining cloud environments.(Kaplan, 2013) I think the cloud is changing the way we do business and the way we use our personal devices. My biggest fears about cloud computing are that it will grow too fast, or someone will misuse the information. Despite my fears I know the cloud will do a lot of good things. If you are like me you were probably in a cloud and didn't even know it, for instance I didn't know that Netflix used Amazon as a cloud service.(Griffith, 2013) Now I guess the saying will be get your head in the clouds; not out of them.
