Storms in The Cloud
Well for all who do not know Amazon offer web services and cloud services is one the services they offer. Well recently my class has been working on assignments that require us to use Amazon's web services. When I first started the assignment everything was going smooth up until around 11 p.m., when I was disconnected from my server instance. Uh oh this is not good so I try to restarting, and rebooting my instance and neither worked. This is not good at all this assignment is due in the morning and I not sure whether I should redo the whole thing or just ask my instructor for help. I guess there is a bright side to this, and that is that this is only practice and not some company's server I'm dealing with. This only goes to show that some clouds do bring bad weather in.

Wheres the Juice? Wireless Chargers.
Do you ever get tired of plugging and unplugging your mobile devices? Well now those days may be over; now that some devices can be charged wirelessly. Wireless charging uses a charging pad that your devices can be placed on and charged up. The charging pad emits a electrical signal that is picked up by your device and allows it to charge up. Some devices that can be charged wirelessly include cell phones, cameras, tablets, etc. . Wireless charging makes things much easier because you don't need so many chargers to power up your devices. Who knows maybe one day we will totally eliminate the need for chargers period.

Google Helping or Hurting
I really didn't know what to blog about tonight so I'm just going to write what was in my mind tonight. So I was sitting here just trying to finish up an assignment for CTS 287 and as I go to submit it I find out that I'm a year late lol. Anyway back to Google which is priceless in my opinion, but to some people who may not be aware of the dangers of clicking on any link. Well that's a different story, because although Google has tons and tons and tons of good information there is also lots of bad information that idiot choose to pass off as the truth. My point is that if people aren't careful they can be easily mislead by certain information. The way I try to avoid this is by looking at more than one link and try to compare them to one another. Another concern I have with it is the amount of information it allows to be searched concerning dangerous things and how to make them. I mean how can we stop these evil people when we give them the tools and instruction to make whatever they need. Well maybe it's just me that feels that way, but anyway I hope that in the future Google will consider omitting some of the negative data that people put into their database.

Where's the Lines?
Throughout the years communicating with family and friends from home relied on endless wires running from state to state. Those days may soon be over now that companies are introducing wireless home phone technology. All you need is a base wireless device that eliminates the use of a phone jack and a monthly plan with a provider. Most companies are offering this service at a price much lower that the larger companies. Once you get the service the companies offer unlimited local and long distance calling as long as you have the service and no contract is required. Although some people will be skeptical about this, there are a lot of people who will be willing to make the change. Soon or later all home phones may be obsolete or all homes will have this technology.

Man vs Machine
We are now living in a time where it is already hard for people to find job with our struggling economy. Day after day people are losing their jobs due to cutbacks, but what if your employer told you that a smart machine will be replacing you. This fear will soon become a reality for a lot of employees, as companies look for more efficient ways to create their products. Some people believe that high usage of smart machines will have negative impacts; disrupting the lives of working people.(Henderson, 2014) I personally do believe that machines will replace a lot of people's careers, and with people not making money they can't buy the products smart machines make. Either way smart machines are every where and aren't going anywhere so my advice to anybody is to learn how to work the smart machines and you might have a fighting chance to save your job.

Keyboard Projectors
It seems that every other day I find something that seems like it came straight out of a Science Fiction movies. This time I stumbled upon a laser projected keyboard, this keyboard allows users to project a usable keyboard onto almost any flat surface.(Shanklin, 2013) The projected keyboard uses infared lasers to project the keyboard and reflections to I think this device is good for us who get tired of using the tiny keyboards that are on some Smartphones. There is currently a keyboard projector that was created by Celluon Epic for about $100. I hope I can try this device out before I purchase it maybe I'll go to a Best Buy to see if I can test one out.

Smaller is Better!!!!
Every where you look nowadays someone is using some kind of a device, whether it's a Smart phone, tablet, or laptop, etc. One thing that all these devices have in common is that they contain microchips. These microchips are getting more advanced and more powerful, as researchers continue with efforts to make them even smaller. Scientist are now experimenting with self assembling materials in an effort to create smaller and less expensive microchips.(Markoff, 2014) The researches are hoping that some self forming materials can be used to form circuits for the microchips.(Markoff, 2014) With this being said some companies are already in the race to improve the quality of handheld devices. For instance Las Vegas company Nvidia plans on releasing a 32 and 64 bit chip this year. (Nvidia, 2014) This chips will give users great computing speed while on the go, these chips will be great for gamers. I think with the work of researchers and companies who are willing to compete for new customers, the need for desktops and laptops will soon fade away as the microchips get smaller and smaller.

Can You See Me Now?
For some people in our technologically advanced world its not enough to just use your high tech devices. Now more are more people are adding wearable technology to their wardrobes. One piece of wearable technology I want to mention is Google Glass. Google Glass is a pretty cool gadget that allow you to capture video, take photos, view maps, and run apps that are specially created.(Houghton, 2013) In my opinion Google Glass has a long way to go, the potential for this technology could be endless. To me the greatest advantage of this technology is that it allows the user to keep his or her hands free. I myself haven't had the pleasure of using Google Glass , so someone please let me know how their experience went in a comment.

Head in The Clouds
Cloud computing is everywhere nowadays, companies every where are starting to convert over to using clouds. The cloud makes things a lot simpler because companies or private users don't have to worry about managing hardware and software which is done by the host company.(Griffin,2013) Cloud works by users accessing or storing information from a cloud host instead of their own computer.(Griffin, 2013) As the cloud business projects billions in profits most large U.S. companies are planning on joining cloud environments.(Kaplan, 2013) I think the cloud is changing the way we do business and the way we use our personal devices. My biggest fears about cloud computing are that it will grow too fast, or someone will misuse the information. Despite my fears I know the cloud will do a lot of good things. If you are like me you were probably in a cloud and didn't even know it, for instance I didn't know that Netflix used Amazon as a cloud service.(Griffith, 2013) Now I guess the saying will be get your head in the clouds; not out of them.

3-D PrintingTechnology for Good or Evil?
In our fast pace society where people are constantly demanding more and more high-tech devices it was inevitable that 3-D printing would be available to the masses. When 3-D printing was in its early development it's technology was expensive and used mainly by large manufacturing companies.(Kennedy, 2013) However now 3-D technology has became more affordable and the size of the machines have decreased greatly. Unfortunately with the good comes the bad, even with all the great things that can be done with this technology there are people who choose to use it for the opposite. While I was watching some YouTube videos on this subject I came across some things that kind of bothered me. I saw people creating guns, and bullets at home using 3-D printers. This bothered me because the material was plastic and actually looked more like toys, and being made of plastic terrorists or other people with bad intentions could easily pass metal detectors. Although people have fabricated plastic guns before 3-D printing was readily available; this just makes it easier for the average Joe to print out a gun in a short amount of time. In an article I read, it stated that the police had conducted a raid and found 3-D printed gun parts.(Greenwood, 2013) Now whose to say that there aren't other gangs out here doing the same thing. Despite the evil things that people can do with 3-D printing technology I still believe this technology will be credited with saving more lives than it takes.

Motion Control
Motion control technology is nothing new, but in recent years this technology has been integrated into more and more devices. When we think of interacting with our PC or game consoles we usually think of a mouse, keyboard, or some kind of handheld controller. However in our technology driven world those things are becoming a thing of the past with the introduction of touchscreens and motion sensor controllers. Motion sensor controllers allow users to interact with their devices using simple motions with the body. In 2010 Xbox launched Kinect; it's motion sensor controller for its gaming console.(Braue, 2011) The Xbox controller allows gamers to interact with games like never before, it allows gamers to use their whole body in the gaming experience. I can't wait to see how far this technology goes.
